Empire furniture, French Second Empire sofa. This wonderful French Empire sofa is in pristine original condition. Dates from circa 1870 with splay legs. The malachite green cut velvet upholstery is historically appropriate and in excellent condition. This sofa retains its original bronze ormolu ornamental mountings. Extremely well made. Elegant and formal but comfortable. It measures 76 wide outside, 60 wide inside, 42 high to the back, 21 high to the seat, 30 deep outside, and 24 and 1/2 inside.

Antique low bow back Windsor smokers armchair, Windsor arm chair. This "antique Windsor chair" measures 16 and three quarter inches on the seat to the back. This antique arm chair measures 19 and one half inches to the seat top. This Windsor chair measures 34 inches high overall and is 20 and one half inches deep at the legs, front to back. This chair, crafted circa 1830. Signed on the back. Click the small, thumbnail images to view larger, more detailed photographs. Impressed stamping on rear edge of seat. This mark is believed to be that of John Watson 1828 to 1875 Swadford Street Shipton, Yorks. See The English Windsor Chair by Thomas Crispin page 121

Early English furniture Georgian roll top desk circa 1820 to 1830. One piece. drawers and cubbyholes. This antique c-roll desk measures 53 inches wide and is 30 inches deep. The top shelf is 13 inches deep and the desk roll top is 14 and one half inches high. The desktop of this Georgian desk measures 50 and one half inches wide inside. The leather piece on the desk measures 27 inches wide by 9 inches deep. This desk measures 38 inches high to the desk top. The bottom inside width measures 21 and one quarter inches wide and the inside the doors on each side measure 14 inches wide. This desk separates into three pieces for easy moving up or downstairs. The top is one piece that sits on two banks of drawers.

Antique French ormolu gooseneck recamier, This wonderful Antique French furniture piece is called a "Recamier" and dates from the middle to late 19th century. All the bronze pieces are covered with ormolu. Excellent castings and condition. This "French Recamier" was obviously made by a master craftsman. This antique French recamier measures 28 inches deep, is 36 inches at the highest point. The eagle feet measure 14 inches. From the floor to the top cushion measures 26 inches high and measures 19 and one half inches high to the top of the bottom cushion. The shorter side measures 26 and one half inches high and this antique French day bed measures 74 and one half inches long overall.
