This "RJ Horner" ladys desk is in excellent original condition. The lid is inlaid with ivory,brass and satin wood. The desk is made from solid mahogany. This is one of the finest examples of R J Horners work. The drawers are all solid mahogany and made with large hand cut dovetails. The little interior drawers are hand dovetailed as well. Measures 41 inches high by 28 and one half inches wide and 17 inches deep. It is 28 and one half inches to the top of the writing surface when the lid is down. The original label is on the reverse which says R J Horner Furniture Makers 61,62,63, West 23rd Street NY. The condition is excellent with the exception of the original leather on the writing surface. This is well worn. We did not want to replace this because it has a wonderful old original look that many of our clients like but it could be replace very inexpensively if a buyer wants a fresh new leather look.

- - - - - - - - - - - - | Early Pennsylvania Country Pine Server Cupboard 1750 to 1780 Item # 4322 Click HERE to inquire about this item Early American Pennsylvania Country Pine Serving Cupboard c1750 to 1780. This "antique country pine" cabinet measures 62 and three quarters inches wide overall by 42 inches high overall and is 21 and one eighths inches deep, overall. This Pennsylvania cabinet measures 36 and one half inches high to the counter top. The large drawers measure 18 and one quarters inches wide and are 2 and three quarters inches deep down; the middle drawer measures 9 and three eighths inches wide and is 2 and three quarters inches deep down. The doors measure 20 and one half inches wide by 23 inches high, inside. The entire piece was constructed with wooden pin construction. The back boards, top, shelves and top and bottom moldings were all put on with hand made wooden pins. There is a trace of the original green paint on the raised panel doors. This was originally a two piece cupboard. Many years ago the back splash was added to the bottom so it would could be used as a server. The back splash was made exactly as it should be with wide hand cut dovetails and mortised into the base. There are three groves that run across the entire back in front of the back splash for holding plates. The entire base is original including the og feet. This period American country piece has a lovely old waxed patina.

This lovely little plant stand has a round top, a graduated twist carved center, and a claw foot base. Measures 29 inches high with a 13 and three quarter inch round top. All hand made and very strong and not tippy at all. The wood appears to be birch. The recent hand rubbed finish shows off the true color and grain of the solid wood.

This Modern Movement wood foot stool was made from a solid stock of walnut. The top is curved and dished so it is very comfortable to sit on as well. The legs come through the top and are set with dark walnut wedges to hold them in place. This is a very well constructed and designed stool but it is not signed by the maker. Measures 19 inches wide by 10 and one quarter inches deep by 12 and one quarter inches high and 2 and one half inches thick.
